Caserta
Your adventure begins in Caserta, renowned for its enchanting Royal Palace of Caserta (Reggia di Caserta), a UNESCO World Heritage site acquired in the mid-18th century by Bourbon King Charles III. This magnificent palace features over 1,200 rooms and 1,790 windows, adorned with lavish chandeliers, gilded frescoes, and impressive tapestries. Designed by architect Luigi Vanvitelli and completed by his son, construction began in 1752 and was not fully finished until the Throne Room was completed in 1847.
As you explore the palace, be sure to visit the breathtaking gardens, which are home to spectacular fountains, a fishpond, and natural woodlands. The gardens feature a stunning 75-meter-high waterfall that cascades dramatically and is visible from the palace, located just 3 kilometres away. The blend of greenery and grand architecture makes this a truly enchanting experience. We recommend a 3-hour private guided tour of Caserta to fully appreciate the palace and its gardens. Please check with us for rates.
Naples
Next, we’ll head to Naples, affectionately known as “Bella Napoli.” This vibrant city is famous for its rich history and the warmth of its friendly people. As you explore, it's important to be mindful of your belongings—it's advisable to avoid wearing jewellery and to keep handbags secure, particularly in crowded areas.
Begin your exploration in the historic centre, a UNESCO World Heritage site, where narrow streets are filled with shops, cafés, and local artisans. Visit the Duomo di San Gennaro, a stunning cathedral dedicated to the city’s patron saint, known for its beautiful frescoes and the miraculous blood of San Gennaro.
Don’t miss the National Archaeological Museum, which houses one of the world’s finest collections of Greco-Roman artifacts, including exquisite mosaics from Pompeii and Herculaneum. We highly recommend a 2-hour private guided tour at the museum to enhance your understanding of the incredible pieces on display. Please check with us for rates.
Stroll through Piazza del Plebiscito, the grand square at the heart of Naples, where you can admire the impressive Royal Palace of Naples and the neoclassical Basilica di San Francesco di Paola.
For a taste of local culture, explore the Cloister of Santa Chiara and take in the architectural beauty of the Teatro di San Carlo, one of the oldest opera houses in Europe. The Galleria Umberto, a historic shopping arcade, is perfect for a leisurely stroll, offering an array of shops and cafés in a beautiful setting.
This private tour offers a perfect blend of royal splendour in Caserta and the dynamic culture of Naples. Whether you’re exploring the grandeur of the Royal Palace, indulging in Neapolitan cuisine, or uncovering the treasures of the National Archaeological Museum, you’ll create unforgettable memories in these iconic Italian cities.
